The outcome variable in the Myopia Study described in Section 1.6.6 is becoming myopic during the first five years of follow up (MYOPIC). Consider a logistic regression model containing spherical equivalent refraction (SHPQ), gender (GENDER), sports hours (SPORTHR), reading hours (RESDHR), computer hours (COMPHR), study hours (STUDYHR) and television hours (TVHR). Graph the fitted logistic probability of becoming myopic for males and females as a function of spherical equivalent refraction (SHPQ) adjusted for all other variables in the model.
Nevertheless, in the simple case of two dichotomous predictors and their crossproduct, the linear link binomial model can be straightforward to fit. We consider an example of this simple, yet common, scenario in detail using data from the study of Myopia in children described in Section 1.6.6.
