The main aim of the study is to use a Cluster Randomised Control Trial (CRCT) to collect high-level evidence of whether community breastfeeding education can reduce neonatal mortality in Nigeria. Specifically, the aims of this trial are to evaluate:

1. Behavioural change education for breastfeeding mothers, and

2. To improve nutritional status of newborns thus, reducing neonatal death of newborns.

Research questions  Can community breastfeeding education in newborn mothers lead to decrease in neonatal morality?
