Describe the health and social characteristics of people who typically use this service (age, gender, health conditions, socioeconomic status and other relevant social circumstances). 2. Identify which health service providers typically work in this service (types of professions), provide examples of specific services (organisations and types of services provided) and how users access these services (can they access directly, through a referral, through hospital services, etc). 3. Examine one of your service examples in detail. This is your primary service example. Describe how the service is funded (state/federal, if there is any out-of-pocket payment or private/public insurance coverage, etc) and examples of how this service is integrated into the Australian health care system (where the service fit in the broader healthcare system). 4. Identify and describe two policies/strategies/plans relevant to the service system you selected. Explain how the policies/strategies/plans influence the service providers and their impact on the service user. 5. Identify the strengths and limitations of the identified policies, strategies or plans in meeting the needs of their service users. 6. Formatting requirements 1. The assignment should be structured as a report in Microsoft Word with relevant headings and sign-posting. 2. Please include appropriate references when presenting facts such as statistics and other evidence. 3. This is an essay. Bullet points should be used sparingly and only if absolutely necessary. 4. Tables and figures are not necessary. However, you will not lose marks if you do not use them appropriately.  Tables and figures should be labelled.  A table or figure can be reproduced from a source if it is necessary but must be referenced properly.  Tables used inappropriately will be counted as words. 5. The report should be within +/-10% of the 1800-word count.  Subheadings and in text citations are included in the word count. Tables or figures and their legends, and the reference list are not included in the word count.  There is no deduction of marks for going over the word count. However, markers can stop marking and disregard further content. 6. Use academic language and APA 6th referencing style only. 7. Use 1.5 line spacing. 8. In today’s busy world many people are compelled or willingly opting to work for long hours or they are moving out of their native pace to work somewhere else for better career growth. Hence their old aged parents are left alone in the house when they need the most care at that moment. These parents need mental, physical and medical care as at this age they are not being able to things of their own. In this article the detailed discussion will be made with respect to the resident aged care service in Australia. Further the discussion will be made regarding the health and social characteristics, service providers, policies and the manner in which the policies are implemented with respect to the aged care facilities. Further there will be discussion with respect to the strengths and weaknesses of the aged care facilities will be discussed.
Health and Social Characteristics of the Aged Care Facility
In the country like Australia there are a significant amount of aged people staying. They are basically retired working professionals living in their own house mostly. Meagher, Szebehely and Mears (2016) have discussed that by 2017 nearly fifteen percent of the population of 3.8 million is Australia are aged people. However the trajectory had shown that in coming decades there will be slow and steady growth in the aged population. Generally the most common traits that can be found among the aged people are they are productive and having active lifestyle, they have a positive mindset, they are resilient and are adaptable, they maintain a healthy weight and overall nutritious diet, they can able to balance their stress levels, they have a good self esteem and they share a close bonds and social relationship in their circle.

However the aged groups of people are also susceptible to various types of diseases as they grow older. Reeve, Low and Hilmer (2019) have discussed that the aged people are mainly suffering from hearing loss, cataracts and many kind of refractive errors along with back and neck pain and osteoarthritis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, depression and dementia. Furthermore with the growing age the number of disease also increases such as chronic diseases such as neurological, cardio and many more.
Relevant Health Service Providers
Generally most of the aged Australians prefer to stay in their own homes. Tollit et al. (2019) have discussed that nearly eighty three percent of them prefer to stay in their own house. The number of services that are provided in the in-house aged care services are personal care, domestic assistance, nutrition and meal preparation, continence management, mobility and dexterity assistance, nursing, allied and other health and clinical services, transport and assistance getting around in their own community, equipments and daily aids, social support and all kinds of medical assistance.
How the Users Get the Service
It has been seen that the specific kinds of services are being provided to the aged care comes in package.
