The following data pertains to a Francis turbine, such as net head = 110 m, speed = 275 rpm, brake power = 14.99 MW, ratio of wheel width to wheel diameter at the inlet = 0.15, ratio of inner diameter to outer diameter = 1.8, flow ratio = 0.2, hydraulic efficiency of the turbine = 90% and overall efficiency = 85%. The flow velocity remains constant and the discharge is radial. Neglect area blockage by blades, determine (i) the inlet and outlet diameter, (ii) guide blade angle and (iii) vane angles.
