The flat plate of Problem 9.18 is turned so that the 3-ft
side is parallel to the flow (the width becomes 10 ft). Should we
expect that the drag increases or decreases? Why? The trailing
edge boundary-layer thickness is now δ 5 0.6 in. Assume again
that the velocity profile is linear and that the flow is twodimensional (flow conditions are independent of z). Repeat
the analysis of Problem 9.18.
