Material prices fluctuate, and data for embodied energies are continually being refined; annual updates for both appear in the CES Edu database. Use the current version of the software to reproduce the diagram, taking the price of energy to be $0.01/MJ. To do so, use the Advanced facility to plot the ratio of the cost of the embodied energy for a material divided by its price on the y-axis:
