The Dark Triad of personality (i.e., Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy) has been described as "socially aversive." Individuals possessing higher levels of these traits tend to engage in more short-term and impulsive mating strategies (e.g., "booty calls), bullying and other forms of aggression, and counterproductive workplace behaviors (e.g., theft, coworker conflict). In spite of the socially aversive nature of the Dark Triad, research has shown thatthe Dark Triad personality is attractive to women.
1. In your own words, briefly define each of the Dark Triad traits (i.e., Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy).
2.Offer any one theoretical perspective (e.g., evolutionary, social role theory) to explain why women might be attracted to "bad boys" (i.e., men high on the Dark Triad). Be sure to explain clearly, based on the theory you've chosen, how/why women would find men high in the Dark Triad attractive.
