Find:


a. Adjusted LRFD design value for the connection based on the strength of the bolts.


b. Check tension and shear stresses at the connection in the side members. Check shear stresses at the connection in the main member assuming the connection is located at least 5d from the end of the member. Select bolt spacing, end distance, and edge distances to provide the adjusted LRFD design value determined in part a. Show the spacing requirements for the bolts on a sketch of the connection.


c. If initially green lumber is used, what will be the effect on the adjusted LRFD design value?
