The community in which Ya-Hsuan lives – where she is a health promotion public health specialist, has an airport, waste incinerator and a lead-acid battery manufacturing plant. The community's Health Council has recognized that the amount of lead in the air has steadily increased over time and is beginning to take minor actions to get ready to initiate a number of major measures decrease lead emissions. They plan to begin these initiatives within the next month.
