Assignment Question:
It is common to be running several programs at once on your PC or laptop, for example, listening to music while you are browsing webs. How is this possible? Describe two ways that your PC or laptop can do, or appear to do, two or more things at once.
Your answer:
It is possible by doing multi-programming and multi-tasking. Multi-programming is process in which Operating system allows various programs to execute once by utilizing single processor or CPU. In multi-programming, CPU time is shared among multiple programs and it is ability of an operating system to run multiple programs on a single CPU. The multi-programming example is executing browser I.E and Microsoft PowerPoint at single time. Multi-programming improves the utilization of processor.
Multi-tasking is a way to do multiple things at once. Multitasking is process in which operating system allows multiple tasks to be executed at single time by using multiple processors. Every task in multiprocessing process is assigned some time. In multitasking, there is good efficiency of completing work which helps in saving the cost. The multitasking example is editing file and replying to messages while on call. The other examples are multitasking in game and performing multitasking in iphones or smart phones.

Assignment Question:
The company Things-Connected has 8 workstations in a wired LAN with a 100 Mbps switch. It was suggested to the admin officer to replace the switch with a wireless Access Point (AP) that uses the 802.11ac standard and operates at 1 Gbps. Assuming all workstations were simultaneously using the LAN, would the AP deliver faster or slower speeds to the users? Explain your reasoning by including estimates of effective bandwidth for each case.
Your answer:
The Wireless access point that uses 802.11ac delivers much faster speed to their users. Their speed is six time faster as compared to other. Their speed is so fast that user can download entire HD movie within few seconds and also share videos and photos within second. Wireless access point that uses 802.11ac delivers faster speed at more distances. So user can do heavy online tasks easily.
802.11ac standard uses bandwidth 1300 Mbps on the 5 GHz band plus up to 450 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. 802.11ac has up to 3x the bandwidth of 802.11n that correspond to more capacity.
Your question:
What are tasks that user do in AP that uses the 802.11ac standard?
Your sample answer: user can download entire HD movie within few seconds and also share videos and photos within second
