The 2-point shifted Gauss–Legendre rule has abscissas at (1 ± 1/ √ 3)/2 and equal weights. Compare the performance of this rule in compounded form to the same compounding of Simpson’s rule as in quad1. (This method is sometimes used instead of Simpson.)
