Brief discussion of current state of the technology. Identification of the various components and their current state. Identification of the components that are the subject of the roadmap.



Component analysis


Each component should have its own sub-section. The discussion should summarize current state (from above), identify alternative technologies for providing the component, state of the alternatives, and prognosis on the availability of each alternative. At the end of the analysis for each component, an alternative technology should be clearly identified as the one most likely to become available and used and an estimated date of its availability should be identified.



Conclusions and recommendations


This section provides a brief summary of the main findings of the analysis – components, most likely technology, estimated date of technology availability. Based on this discussion, a statement about the availability of the technology should be made.

Most often the technology is still in some form of basic research as one or more critical technology issues is not solved. Required: Using Internet research develop a technology roadmap for an emerging technology of your choice. Aim for 90% accuracy for your selected time frame i.e. 10+ years. Use the outline below to summarize your findings and conclusions. For your chosen technology: Introduction 1.(i) In one paragraph briefly describe the technology and its genesis, state why it is important, and give 1-2 examples of its use. (ii) Summarise in 2-3 sentences the current state of your topic technology. A conceptual diagram or picture would be good (with reference format in the text (LastName, Year) and bibliography/references format as APA or close to it). Critical Component Analysis & Evaluation of Alternatives 2.Identify 3-5 key component technologies required to mature the technology and briefly state why each component is relevant. (This discussion should be around 1-2 sentences for each component). 3.Select TWO component technologies that are still under development (i.e. there are technology issues that have not yet been solved). For each component, develop a section that includes: a)a sub-header naming the component technology, b)1-2 sentences on the current state (with references), c)One sentence identifying two alternatives (with references), for meeting the needs of the component technology, d)1-2 sentences briefly describing each alternative, its current state (with references), and the probability of it being chosen as the component technology (with references). e)Identify the component technology you think is most likely to become commercialized and state the number of years you estimate until commercialization. Introduction
A technology that has not yet been commercialized was the aspect of production methods that live less of a carbon footprint. Effectively, most companies spend billions for finding production methods that reduce the carbon footprint the company. This technology has been created on the basis of scaling and necessitating negative emissions like carbon sequestration to remove carbon dioxide that has already been created.
