Taylor Bonn is a 28-year-old mother of a 1-year-old baby boy. She returned to work part time 3 months ago as a special-education instructor working with a group of special-needs pre-schoolers. Her husband watches their son two evenings a week so that Taylor can resume work toward a master’s degree in special education at the local university. Lately Taylor has begun feeling more stressed and tired. It is almost the end of the semester and papers are due; the holidays arrive in another month and both sides of the family will be coming to visit; and they’ve delayed celebrating the baby’s birthday this month so that the families can enjoy the celebration when they visit. Taylor lives next door and asks you, a nurse and the “reference for the neighbourhood,” about vitamin therapy to help her through this stressful period and to increase her energy level. She tells you that she still has some prenatal vitamins and wonders if she should take them.
