An organization uses several records, registers and forms to collect inform
ation on WHS injuries, near misses and incidents. These may include-
· policies and procedures associated with Health and safety
· SOPs that are standard operating procedures
· Organizational code of conduct
· Training and induction records of the organization
· Injuries register
· Minutes of meeting for Workplace health and safety committee
· Record of all equipments including repair, maintenance as well as inspections
· Risk assessment and hazard identification
· Rehabilitation and worker’s compensation
· Audit reports along with safety inspections data
· Data sheets of hazardous substance materials safety
· Medical records
· Safe work method statements
· Completed incident reports copies
WHS incident reports, WHS policies and procedures and the Assessment of the workplace specific risks. At each workplace, there are several dangers as well as risk depending on the work nature so, there is need to do assessment properly. These records and documents can help PCBU or health and safety officer to further create and amend the policy and procedures of WHS so that they address identified risks for the workplace. Ensure providing training to all employees and they must have access to policies and procedures. These results would help to identify the trend so as to find root cause of the safety hazard. This would further identify improvement areas like:
· Objectives review and KPIs review
· Training requirements adjustments
· Enhancement of the Communication strategies
· Additional resources obtainment
· Roles and responsibilities review
· WHS policies and procedures amendments
After implementation of improvement, again evaluation and assessment must be done to find the preventive strategies effectiveness.

For the chosen organization, type of work performed is core construction wherein Emergency and incident preparedness is must to consider. For emergency preparedness we must –
· During induction, show emergency point to all workers and subcontractors.
· All visible locations and site office must be displayed for emergency procedure
· Fire-extinguishers must be checked and marked well at start of project and periodically.
· Evacuation must be practiced for emergency scenario.
· Immediate stopping and evacuating place at fir alarm is must.
· Assistance towards anyone at workplace to help in evacuation procedure.
b. What methods could be used to explain WHS legislative and regulatory requirements to the selected department employees?
