Task: You should develop a research proposal for a small primary or secondary research project that should be reasonably carried out in a 6 month period.
It is strongly advised that you continue to build on your subject of interest in this assessment.  It will make your transition to the Independent Project smooth and you will already know what you are going to do in Year 3.
 NB While you will not have an opportunity to carry out primary research in Year 3, it will be good experience for you if you choose to do so this year.
There will be no allowances for later papers without agreement from the mitigating circumstances team.  If your paper is even a minute late it cannot be accepted.  So please do not wait until the last minute to upload it as the system tends to slow down close to submission time.  There is no requirement to submit a hard copy. Please put your student number on your paper but do not put your name on it – these will be marked anonymously.
Word count: Your proposal should be 2,000 words (+/- 10%), excluding references.  This means your proposal should be no shorter than 1,800 words and no longer than 2,200 words.  Your mark will be affected by reviews, which are too short or too long.
