- Source, select and annotate four local community-based artefacts that are suitable, engaging and interesting for children. Your annotations must show links between your community and its impact upon student development including their physical, social and intellectual needs.Note:Each artefact is not required to impact all areas of a student's development; it may impact one or two.
- Your artefacts may offer opportunities for learning and development in local communities under the following themes:
- Creativity opportunities for children.
- Networking opportunities for children.
- The establishment of innovative partnerships between local schools and community organisations/businesses.
- Drawing on the unit materials and wider readings, annotations must respond to the following questions:

- What you have learnt about the role of communities in facilitating learning for schools and students.
- How do local communities contribute to the construction of a sense of identity and belonging for students?
- In the case of a lack of resources, reflect on how this would impact students' development.
