Task description
This assessment task requires you to create and present an informational poster that addresses a selected health promotion issue within the Australian health system context. From the perspective of a specific national health priority problem, you will examine relevant social and behavioural determinants, key strategies for promoting health and wellness, and communication methods appropriate to the target audience. Your poster will be presented as a Powerpoint slide which includes an embedded commentary on the content of your poster.
Length
Your poster should be 1 slide only (no more than 750 words), and your video recording should be no more than 5 minutes in length.
Learning outcomes measured
- Explain and discuss key concepts and issues in relation to health and illness across the lifespan including the influence of social determinants of health
- Apply knowledge of professional, ethical, social and cultural dimensions of communication to establish and maintain therapeutic relationships and partnerships in health care
- Analyse principles of health promotion and evaluate health promotion strategies in relation to a selected health problem and key social determinants of health across the lifespan

together with
its intended target audience as the focus of your poster:
- Safe use of mobile phones (target audience: Children aged 10-15 years)
- Prostate cancer awareness & detection (target audience: Males aged 30-50 years)
- Preventing falls at home (target audience: Older people living in the community aged 80-95 years)
Step 2
Examine your selected health problem within the Australian health system context, i.e., researching relevant literature and/or other sources to information regarding the elements described above. You would then analyse the information you have sourced in order to develop succinct text-based material suitable for displaying in poster form.

A: You should include a minimum of 6

Q: Can we use other software to prepare the poster?
A: Yes, as long as the poster canvas can be formatted to AO size (119cm x 84cm) and can be saved as a
PDF to be uploaded to Canvas.
