Task Description
This week you should complete a tender recommendation report for your selected case study. The steps you should go, and the info you should include are:
1. Go back to your week 5 weekly assignment where you identified 3 procurement needs for your project
2. Pick one of those needs (it doesn't need to be the one you did the detailed info on, but that would be a logical choice for most of you)
3. Pick some evaluation criteria and weightings, and justify why.
4. Pretend that you have gone out to the market, received responses and you are now at a point where you are recommending to your boss which organisation you should award the contract to.
5. Present a completed weighted matrix with scores for each tenderer, along with some dot point notes to support your scores and the final recommendation. For example, "ABC Design Co demonstrated an excellent background in projects very similar to ours, which was a major strength of their submission", or "The team put forward by XYZ Design Co was small in comparison to the others, so we were concerned with the amount of resourcesand the management approach they were going to take, which was a weaknessof their submission". Effectively, you are convincing your boss that your recommendation is the right one.
It's common that a tender recommendation would include the strengths and weaknesses of each submission. Your boss doesn't have time to read each tender submission in detail, so they rely on you to give them an objective summary. Remember that no submission is perfect, so even the winning organisation will probably have weaknesses, and these will then turn into risks for your project. Perhaps you could include, in the tender recommendation, how you plan to deal with those new risks.
