Social construction can be defined as a common perception or idea that is been widely accepted by majority of people. With reference to “The Columbia Dictionary of Modern Literary and Cultural Criticism”, (Childers, J., 1995). it is most certainly talk of all ages and induces rage which emphasizes the contingencies on the social aspects. For this assignment I have selected a cultural text that I find both interesting and intriguing which sort of unusual since most of the people focus on TV or movies while my focus is inclined on present day obsession of tattoos. To provide my assignment good reference point I have built my research and analysis on meaning of tattoos of one of the most influential and successful sport icon, Mr. David Beckham. He was playing for Manchester United and also for Real Madrid and there is no denying to the fact that he was one of the star player and was famous for various reasons other than being the person who scores maximum goals in the team. He is known for his fashion sense and of course number of tattoos he has inked on his body. Most of the people wonder what are these tattoos and story behind them. Beckham has been persistent to went out his emotions and express them in creative ways especially through the appearance. Playing as midfielder and performer on the ground along with his arcade of hairstyles over the time, many unconventional attire and questionable length of the facial hair. Thus, he is also famous away from the soccer ground because of his various tattoos that span across his body and also for being fashion icon. Taking into the consideration all the factors, the star is dependent and completely dependent on the tattoos to express his inner most feelings and deepest emotions. Taking into review majority of his tattoos are a tribute to his adored spouse and kids.
