Introduction
The research will focus on which of the learning theories of behaviourism, constructivism and cognitivism is ideal for teaching and learning science. Understanding learning theories can influence the communication between the students and the teachers to determine what the students learn. In this prospect it is effective to understand the theories related to multiple intelligence, multiple learning modalities and pedagogical approach which is essential for teaching science.
The research question for this particular discussion shall concentrate: Which is the learning theory that is specific for teaching and learning science in the seventh standard?
This analysis will help to contemplate which particular learning theory and approach is viable to develop higher order thinking skills through teaching the concepts of Matter in science to the students of the 7th standard. It is obvious that learning science at this standard depends upon the analytical and the cognitive intelligence of the students. The research will focus on the analysis of the constructivism as a learning theory required for teaching the unit of Matter in the Seventh standard.
The ethical consideration while conducting research with the children involves taking their consent. Parental consent and any other requirements that are necessary for the research to proceed ethically must be contemplated. In this aspect as the entire phenomenon will be conducted on the basis of a teaching learning action the effective concerns must be considered. It is also effective to continually reflect on the practices in terms of any formal ethical review requirements.
