Introduction
Instead of vast improvements regarding
health throughout the world in last some decades,
environmental factors still prevail as a main reason of illness and death in several parts of the
world. In the poor areas of the globe, usually one in every five children does not live more than
four or five years, due to environmental related and avoidable diseases (Friis, 2011). This
number increases to 11 million childhood deaths every year and among these most of the deaths
are all because of diarrhea and acute respiratory infections. Environmental threats are not only
striking developing regions as developed countries also facing number of environmental threats
like obesity, air and water pollution that can harm health, life expectancy decline, global
warming etc (Frumkin, 2010).
Being an in charge of the world's biggest charity, The Bill and Melinda Gates
Foundation, half of the Foundation's funds will be allocated to a U.S. environmental health
problem and the other half to a global problem as discussed here in this paper.
U.S. Environmental Health Problem
In accordance to me, one of the most significant environment health problems of U.S that
need significant attention is Toxic Air. Several Americans still breathe Toxic Air instead of
various Federal and State Air Pollution Enforcement laws. Instead of several laws and Clean Air
Act, still several U.S. communities are not protected and able to breathe clean air that in turn
impairs health with different types of allergies and diseases. The toxic air still is a reason of birth
defects, different types of cancers, and several other severe public health problems (Collins,
2010). Regarding Toxic air, the United States Congress passed a number of amendments’ to the
Clean Air Act in 1990 with an aim to protect Americans from breathing approximately 200 toxic
chemicals like mercury, formaldehyde, benzene, arsenic, and other...
