Table 9.1, as noted, makes generalizations about societies based on their subsistence patterns. Many societies, however; use more than one subsistence pattern or exhibit traits more commonly associated with a subsistence pattern other than its own. In terms of U.S.society, give some examples of how we practice food collecting and horticulture and how we exhibit generalized reciprocity, balanced reciprocity, redistribution, part-time labor specialization, and so on.
