Read the article and take notes as needed to increase your understanding.As you read the article write out answers to the questions below.
1.Journal Citation:
a.What is the name of the journal the article was published in?
b.What year?
c.What is the volume and the page number?
d.What is the title of the article?
e.Type the full reference of the sourceusing APA citation and the information from above.
2.Theory and hypothesis:
- Explain the general theory they are trying to support?
- Explain the hypothesis or hypotheses for this article?
3.Research Methodology:
a.Identify the research method they used in this study (e.g., survey, experiment, field, natural observation, case study etc.)
b.What were the pros and the cons with this study?
- What were the variables that they measured?
- If it was an experiment, identify the independent and dependent variables; what was the control group and what was the experimental group?
4.Population and sample:
a.Who was the population of interest for this study?
b.How did the researchers obtain their sample?
c.Summarize the basics demographics of the sample for this study.
d.Was random sampling done? Is it a representative sample?
e.If it was an experiment, was random assignment used?
5.Results/Findings:
a)What were the general findings of the study?
b)Did the hypothesis predict the findings?
c)Was the theory supported?
d)What are the implications of the study for psychology and human behavior?
e)Can we generalize the findings?
f)How valid are the findings?
g)How does the article findings relate to some of the concepts I have read/learned about in the class?
