Substrate inhibition or Haldane inhibition was discussed in Section 5.2.2.1 and the Haldane inhibition model was presented for the kinetics:
where KI is the Haldane or substrate inhibition coefficient. In this model, KS (the half-velocity constant) is equal to k−1/k1, which is the equilibrium constant of the reversible reactions 5.21; KI equals to k−2/k2, which is the equilibrium constant of the reversible reactions 5.22. a. Use a similar approach for obtaining the Mickaelis–Menten equation to derive Haldane model or equation (5.24); b. Propose a method for analyzing steady-state data of r vs. [S] with the objective of obtaining the values of the model constants.
