Cognitive and emotional effects with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
Long-term mental fatigue is the most commonly experience problem which has direct effects on the cognitive functions of the brain (Puhr et.al., 2019). The other problems which can be encountered after the TBI are memory impairments, irritability, sensitivity to both light and sound, increased stress, sleeping disorders, headaches, difficulty in thinking due to mental exhaustion and takes long time for the energy restoration. The TBI also shows long term effects on both the emotional and the psychological functioning of the brain, the children will face the social issues due to impairments in the daily functioning (Nicklin et.al., 2019). The physical issues that are experienced among the TBI patients are idiopathic endocrine dysfunctions such as hypogonadism, bowel disorders, pain and others (Ortiz et.al., 2020). Hence, there is need for family and community-based interventions to help the patients recover fast.
