Include beliefs, values and norms, as defined sociologically. For example, this could include food preferences (values), but it also might include definitions of what is food (beliefs). Be very selective in your choice of what to include; you will want to pick things that illustrate and support your thesis. 3. Discuss how your culture influences your life. Does it give you a sense of identity and belonging? Does it create and strengthen your community? Does it constrain your choices? Is everyone in your culture or subculture equally constrained? 4. Describe ways in which your culture/subculture is changing and under what influences. What effect does this have on the community and the individuals within it? 5.
