Students must select one (1) social determinant of health discussed in the orientation lecture and search the contemporary health literature to identify relevant articles in relation to their chosen topic and the impact on health and well-being of people, families and/or communities. To develop their written paper, students must select a minimum of 10 peer reviewed articles that are relevant to the topic, current (last 8 years) and scholarly in nature. Using the chosen social determinant of health, in light of the relevant literature found, students should provide an introductory paragraph, which outlines what the paper will cover. The body of the paper should explain and examine the chosen determinant of health and the effect it has on the health and well-being of people, families and/or communities with in text reference to the 10 (minimum) articles selected.
