Students enrolled in the CORE1002: Logos II must produce an ethical case study to complete the course. From the list of suggested scenarios presented below, students should choose one scenario to develop as an ethical case study. The scenario chosen should be one which raises significant ethical questions about what is right and good or constitutes an ethically problematic situation for those involved. The scenarios address a variety of ethical concerns including professional, social, political or personal concerns.TASK (your case study should have four parts):1) Choose one of the following ethical theories, clearly explain the theory's main points, and show how the theory is supposed to enable one to make good moral decisions.a) Either Virtue Ethicsb) Or Natural Law (Ethical) theoryc) Or Deontological Ethics The University of Notre Dame Australia Date of Publication to Students: July 11, 2018 12 of 162) Apply the chosen ethical theory to one of the scenarios below and show what choice or course of action the theory would require and how the principles of the theory justify that choice or course of action.3) What are 1 or 2 major strengths of the theory? Whenever you find a sentence or paragraph that seems helpful you have been copying the text and then pasting them into a document alongside your other research notes. Unfortunately, you have not kept track of where you got all of your notes from, and when you start to write your essay you realise that there might be a lot of text in your notes that has come from internet sources that you should not be using in the essay. In this circumstance what would your selected ethical theory suggest you should do?

Virtue theory of ethics and case study
Virtue theory is one of the three essential normative theories of ethics prevalent today namely consequentialist, deontological, and virtue ethics. Virtue theory of
ethics is unique in that it describes moral actions in terms of character and trait instead of consequence or result as do the other two theories.
The virtue theory of ethics states that a person’s actions need to be guided by the virtue in their character instead of any obligation or consequence. Human beings are predisposed to good character as social animals and cultivating this character leads to genuine and good ethical behaviour. (Hursthouse, 1999)
In Virtue ethics, virtue is a person acting on ‘the Golden Mean’ which is the middle point between two extremes in any issue. It is this midpoint of equilibrium that enables proper decisions to be implemented. For example, Generosity is the mid-point between the extremes of miserliness and extravagance.
Sometimes the golden mean is closer to one extreme and hence being closer to one extreme is not necessarily a bad thing. The golden mean in a particular situation is judged by a person’s character rather than the outcome of the situation.
Virtue theory necessitates that virtue is developed through practice. The more virtue a person practices the more he is likely to develop virtue. Hence a human is in a constant cycle of improvement. In practicing the theory of virtue, one not only develops good working practices but also develops as a human being. (Annas, 2009)
In my selected case study I have gathered information from unauthentic sources for my essay. As per the requirements of the essay, these are sources we are not allowed to use as materials and hence form an unethical practice as it goes against the suggested guidelines for the essay. If I use these materials my teacher may never find out, so I can use it without any problems. However since this practice is against ethics and is wrong, I have to stop and think about it.
By virtue, I should remove all...
