Introduction to AOD and People Experiencing Homelessness
As per 2018 census, it is observed that in Australia, 116,000 people are homeless, which means that for every 10,000 people in Australia, 50 people need support for their accommodation or staying in temporary space, which are severely crowded (AIHW, 2021). Those who have instable housing facilities are more prone to risky use of substances such as alcohol, tobacco and drugs, collectively known as Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD).
They use illicit form such as injections, or other ways, which is severe threat to their health as well. In Melbourne, only 43% of homeless population is suffering from alcohol and drug use problem (AIHW, 2021). Some had these problems prior from being homeless while others developed after being homeless.

It is one of the major factor but dependent on the changeable philosophical idea of the government. Labour government supported heroin trial, which is against what public demands actually.
Drug Availability:

Research:
There is great emphasise in the country on research and education. It helps to follow evidence-based practice and supports identification, prevention and clinical treatments.
Community Attitudes:
The communities are able to influence political decisions and funding agencies with the help of media. They are also influential over drug addicts and their families. Apart from this the philosophies of drug users and their demographics is also impactful towards AOD issues.
Homelessness
In generic terms, homelessness is about those people who do not have access to roof but as per research population who do not have provisions for long-term accommodation or whichever is suitable for living (Vallesi et al., 2021). There are many people, who are living in cars, staying such as refugees, spending nights in temporary or emergency hideouts as well.
There are many reasons, which results to homelessness such as unemployment, experiences of violence, lack of financial stability, chronic health issues, social isolation and use of substances alcohol, tobacco and drugs. AOD and homelessness are related due to emergence of strained relationships out of it. The addictive disorders lead to violence in the families and job loss.
Due to addiction, they are not able to pay the bills on time and support their family responsibilities. As a result, they are estranged and it becomes...
