One of your firm’s clients is currently evaluating its information systems, and the Managing Director of your client thinks that they needed to invest in an Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system to support the growth of the business. Required You are required to prepare a report to evaluate and recommend an ERP software for a listed company of your choice (your firm’s client).1 The report should include the following components: 1. Background of the Selected Business (The selected company should be a manufacturing firm listed on either The Australian Stock Exchange. The chosen company is your firm’s client.) • Describe your client’s business and its business activities. • Discuss the key business processes for your client. • Evaluate the business process of your clients to identify potential weak internal controls and the risk associated with these potential weak controls. • Recommend the control techniques that will reduce or eliminate these potential risks. 2. Systems Requirements • Outline the software features and functionalities that your client should consider supporting its business activities. 3. Software Selection • Discuss the history of ERP, particularly the history of ERP in the modern manufacturing world. • Compare and contrast the features and functionalities of three ERP software packages offered by the ERP vendors. • And finally, identify the most suitable vendor and ERP software package for your client and explain why it is the best option. In today's dynamic era where globalisation is new fuel for survival and businesses are in constant competition with one another hence it is essential that it has required tools and infrastructure to function properly and in return provide competitive advantage to the business. Our client is one of the well-known successful company of Australia BlueScope which is known for its product differentiation and quality across the world since its inception. However, the organisation is facing some serious challenges in analysing the data generated from multiple different platforms. They aren’t able to comprehend significant bull-whip occurring in their supply chain process as well as losing out on big client deals since they aren’t able to identify who are their top customers who should be given investment of time and energy.
