Hypotheses:In a brief paragraph, discussyour guesses about the outcome of the study. If you had to make an educated guess, based on your own real-life experience, how many hours do you think college students spend doing homework? Do you think they would spend different amounts of time on homework/studying on normal weeks and finals weeks?
SPSS Analysis: We have some data from a hypothetical sample, that includes two variables:the number of hours students spent doing homework/studying during regular weeks and the number of hours students spent doing homework/studying duringfinals weeks. Open the data (see Dataset Files below). Create a frequency table and bar chart for the data (both variables) in the dataset. Please use theAssignment 1 Lab Bookto help guide you through the process of creating frequency tables and bar charts with SPSS, and then copying and pasting these to a Word document.
Results:Report in words/paragraph form what the frequency tables and bar charts show. Describe the shape of each distribution using factors we learned about in this module (symmetry, skew...). Which number of hours spent doing homework was the most common on normal weeks? During finals weeks? Which were the least common for both weeks? Are these variables nominal, ordinal, or interval-ratio? Explain your answer?
Conclusions:Write a brief paragraph that discusses what you learned from these variables, including comparing your findings to your guesses from the first question above. Also, compare frequency tables to bar charts—which were more helpful in answering the questions this week? Why?
