Span of life: Many scientists believe that, for humans at least, there is a natural span of life. That is, there is a limit beyond which human life cannot extend, regardless of advances in medical science. Currently the maximum life span in developed countries is around 120 years, and evidence suggests that it has been that way since Roman times. However, with improvements in medical care, the average life span has increased significantly during the past century. Draw a sequence of survivorship curves that illustrates increasing average life span with fixed maximum life span.
