Sometimes it is in the best interest of society or health care workers to know if a person has a contagious disease (such as AIDS). If the person doesn’t consent to a test for that disease, do you think it should be permissible to perform the test without the person’s knowledge? (A vial of blood may be used for a variety of tests without the patient knowing it.)
