So my dilemma is that I'm currently working full time as a graphic designer, and I do have the skills to do it all, but I'm just lacking time as I just have so much on. But I'm studying an online Diploma in Graphic Design to get my credentials, but I've just run into the issue of not having the time to complete all my assignments before the course is supposed to end. Is this assignment attached something you can do? :)

Introduction You are required to complete one assessment activity for CUAACD501 Refine drawing and other visual representation tools. In completing your final assessment, you will show evidence of your ability to: · evaluate the role of drawing in professional practice · support practice through experimentation with drawing and visual representation · develop individual approach to use of drawing. Assessment 34421/01 In this assessment you are required to develop concept illustrations using traditional media to encapsulate the essence of a book. You will then take one of those concepts and develop it further using digital media, then incorporate it into the design of a film poster. Part A – Research illustrators 1. Pick two illustrators that you particularly admire and who have influenced your own work. Now consider these questions: · What do you find appealing in the two illustrators’ work? · How have they influenced your own work as an illustrator starting out? · If you wanted to emulate their work, how would you do it? · What techniques do you think the illustrator uses to execute their work? If you wanted to incorporate their techniques into your own work, what tools would you need to use? · How will imitating your two favourite illustrators’ techniques support your development as an illustrator? · What are the biggest challenges you face when you’re illustrating? Using the template below, write a report that you can share with others to communicate your answers to these questions. The wording in grey is there to guide you – delete it to add your own words. Report name Introduction Purpose of the report Biggest challenges I face when I illustrate Illustrator 1 name: Example of their work Provide an image that represents work that is typical of this illustrator. What appeals to me about their work What I need to do to emulate their approach in my own work How working with their techniques could support my current practice The tools I would need to use to work with these techniques Illustrator 2 name: Example of their work Provide an image that represents work that is typical of this illustrator. What appeals to me about their work What I need to do to emulate their approach in my own work How working with their techniques could support my current practice The tools I would need to use to work with these techniques Conclusion Summary of the report’s contents. Part B – Develop concepts 1. Read the list of book titles below: · Charlotte’s Web · The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe · The Very Hungry Caterpillar · The Hunger Games · Looking for Alibrandi · The Princess Diaries · The Diary of Anne Frank · The Da Vinci Code · Eat, Pray, Love · Lord of the Rings Select one book as a project to work with. Develop three different concept illustrations for that book to visually encapsulate the full essence of the story: · choose one of the illustrators you researched and ensure your illustrations reflect their style/techniques. For example, if you selected Theodore Lesieg, think of the bold colours and fun, cartoon style he used in the Dr. Seuss series · use a variety of traditional illustration media such as charcoal, pencil, watercolour, paint, ink or collage · incorporate different spatial fields · vary your compositions (consider size, balance, colour, visual harmony etc.) · include at least one black-and-white illustration and one full-colour illustration. Don’t feel like your illustrations have to be finished pieces of art. You simply need to cultivate your ideas visually and develop a well-rounded concept drawing. Submit your three illustrations as scanned documents with this assessment. 2. What are the qualities and uses for some of the common media that illustrators work with? Complete the table below with this information. Medium Qualities and uses for illustration pencil pens (roller ball, Fineliner) charcoal ink markers watercolour gouache Part C – Work with concepts 1. Choose one of the three Illustrations – the one that you feel best represents the book’s story – that you developed in Task 2, Question 1 to work with in this task. Imagine that you will be submitting your work to a book publisher – the book is being reprinted to coincide with the launch of the film. Develop the concept digitally using either Photoshop or Illustrator or a combination of both. (Tip: you can scan in your sketch and use it as a template). When you have completed your digital concept, save your file as a PDF and submit it with this assessment. 2. Write a 200-word reflection about the process of moving from working with traditional media, as you did in Task 2, to working in a digital environment. In your reflection consider how different presentation contexts might influence your choice of media, tools and techniques. Give at least two examples to demonstrate your points. 3. i. What work, health and safety issues could become an issue when working with different drawing media – both traditional and digital? Discuss three issues and your strategies for dealing with them. Complete the table with this information. WHS risk Strategy ii. Prepare a checklist with at least four items you can use to ensure safe work practices are in place when you undertake further drawing assignments, ensuring it reflects relevant items of your above strategies. Please put this checklist into a table with fields where you can tick each item prior to each drawing session, indicating the date. Submit a copy of a completed and dated checklist for one of your drawing sessions. Part D – Create a poster 1. Your book design was a success – the publishers loved it and in collaboration with Warner Bros. Entertainment, it is in its final stages of production and will be released soon. Now they want you to design the film poster. Your brief is as follows: · your poster must be A3 size · Warner Bros. logo is to be included · your concept illustration must be the poster’s main visual attribute · the name of the book/film is to be included · the text ‘Coming soon’ is to be included. Save your A3 poster as a PDF and submit it with this assessment. 2. Now that you have completed your final illustration and your poster, how successful (or not) do you think you were you in communicating your ideas? Complete the table below with your evaluation of each concept illustration you developed in this assessment. In your answers, explain your reasoning. Some questions to answer as you evaluate: · How well does your concept communicate the essence of the story you selected? · How well does your illustration coincide with the title of the book? · Does your illustration evoke certain emotions in the audience? What are they? · How does your illustration reflect the illustrator that you selected as your inspiration? · Does your illustration have a cohesive message?
