CPA Competency
Introduction
CPA certification programme required competency in about six core competency domains. As of now wish to have competency in the course streams of Financial reporting and Audit and Assurance are the two main core competency areas. Apart from that I do wish to take up core competency courses in Assurance and Tax from the elective modules. Leadership skills from capstone integrative module and professional course development from the capstone -2 course module (CPA competency).
PART A
I wish to focus on the financial reporting and the Leadership skills competencies throughout the semester. Each of these two has their unique significance in the current professional developmental requirements. At the outset, my financial reporting skills will of good use for me to equip myself with the necessary competency to take up the challenges professional responsibilities after CPA cerfications. The knowledge going to be gained from this module will be of great use not only for passing the examination but will be contributing to my career development throughout my career. Also my other course competencies like audit and assurance, Assurance and tax are equally useful but the foundation that I will be getting in financial reporting is very much relevant for understanding other course modules as well.
