Single-system designs are relatively easy to use and to understand. They can be applied within the same time frame that you are currently using in seeing clients. (Often, you can share your charts with clients as motivators of continuing progress or clarification of the nature of the problems.) Once you understand the basics, there is relatively little time spent on the mechanics of single-system designs. (Students have reported a threshold effect; it takes some initial effort to learn about single-system designs and to implement them at first, but once you cross that threshold, it is much easier thereafter.)
