Introduction
In this modish and luxury world, value of people has been changed and smoking has
become very popular among youngsters and middle age people. Smoke has hazardous affect on
human health and it is one of the main causes of lung problems (Bauld, 2011). People, who
smoke, believe that smoke provide relaxation and improves their concentration, but the true fact
is that, smoking has negative effect on, not only the health of smokers but also others people
around them.
It is also argued by many people that tobacco industry contributes in the nation’s
economic development and gives employment to many people, so why should it banned? People
who are major, have right to choose their freedom and enjoy their life. In contrast it is also true
that people have no right to harm others and if they smoke at public places, it would affect
other’s health also (Desk, 2011). Although tobacco industry gives huge benefits to governments
but still it is the responsibility of government to protect environment and minimize the hazardous
effects of smoke, otherwise the rate of diseases such as cancer, lung problems, etc. will increase,
which is not a positive sign for the development of a healthy society (Venezuelanalysis.com,
2011).
This essay presents a discussion in favor of banning of smoke, mainly in eating
establishment and bars. It means people are free to smoke at their private places, but smoking
should be banned at public places, so that the rate of health problem due to smoke and tobacco
can be decrease and a health environment can be developed.

Yes, smoking should be banned at different public places, mainly in eating establishment,
where lots of people such as women, teenagers, and children come to enjoy their food. On the

other hand, in bars, 95% person people smoke during their drink, but it should be banned there
also to protect the health of other people, who do not smoke. Rationale of banning smoke in
eating establishment and Bars is as follows:
The rationale behind sporting the ban of smoke is that people can breathe freely at public
places and the risk of heart diseases and cancer can be minimized due to second hand smoking
and its negative impact. People are free to prefer smoke at their private places but in public
environment, especially in bar restaurants, where families come to spent valuable time with joy,
smokers have no right to pollute the ambiences and which will affect other’s health during their
breathing as it is not a controllable activities (New health bill will ban smoking in majority of
workplaces, 2005).
Several countries have demanded for implementing different laws to control smoke and
increasing demand of tobacco, which is in favor of social norms also. According to world health
organization, smoke bans at public places is imperative to control the behavior of people, which
is continuously shifting towards smoking and their personal and physical life is continuously
affecting in negative manner (World Health Organization, 2012). The smoke bans are also
significant to improve the healthy lifestyle of smokers as well as their family and other social
people.
