Several new software levels (i.e., word processor, spreadsheet, and fax) offer better functionality than existing software. A customer should be able to use these levels in any combination. It is desired to evaluate whether the programs work satisfactorily when the levels are combined in any fashion and also work with other software.
(a) List 15 factors and their levels in a 16-trial test plan that assesses combinational problems. Choose the factors and levels according to your projected use of a particular word processor package. Note the specific hardware and software that will not be changed during the test. (e.g., model and speed of computer).
(b) Determine the percent test coverage of two- and three-factor combinations.
