Select a research article in your field that uses one of the hypothesis techniques, or correlations or regression topics covered in the course. For example, t-statistic, chi-squared, or any other analysis to test a hypothesis. Write a summary/critique of the research article,maximum 2 pages(single spaced). You may include tables and figures as extra pages.
Please use the following subheadings to write-up the study.
1.Brief introduction
2.Purpose/research questions of the study
3.Details about the study
•The independent and dependent variables and how they are measured.
•The number of subjects in the study.
•The sample selection method used.
•Demographical background of the sample if relevant.
•The type of statistical method(s) used to answer the research questions(s).
4.Results and Conclusion:
Clearly write the findings of the study in your own words. You may copy tables and figures from the article, but the description of the results should be in your own words, and not verbatim from the article. You rephrase the results/findings of the study in your own words to demonstrate your understanding of the study.
Support your arguments with evidence provided in the article such as t- or chi-square or F-values, degrees of freedom, p-values, effect size, etc. Connect the results to the research questions(s) and write your assessment of how well results support the conclusions about the research question(s).
