Select a person who has de-escalated a relationship strife with conflict. Again, make sure you choose someone who is comfortable enough to talk to you about this relationship...a parent, a close friend, a relative. (The person CANNOT be YOUR significant other or yourself.) This relationship could have ended in divorce, or it could represent the end of a long-term relationship of some kind. Using the info in our textbook, describe the phases of relational de-escalation to your interviewee. What behaviors characterized each stage? What happened in the relationship to move it down each level? How much time did each stage take? Could the conflict have been managed better? If so, how?AFTER COMPLETING either OPTION 1 OR OPTION 2, write about the following:

  1. Describe the person you chose to interview and why you selected that person.

  2. Describe the relationship of that person to their significant other. If you can, describe the significant other as well.

  3. What was the most difficult part of relational development for you to explain? What was the most difficult part of relational development for them to understand?

  1. Using the material from the textbook, offer an analysis of the relationship that you discussed in the interview. This means you should cite material from the book, and analyze what you learned in the interview, compared to what our authors state.

  2. What did you learn about relationships from this interview? How has this impacted your relationship with the person that you interviewed?

  3. Please don’t answer the questions and simply number them 1-5. I am expecting a well-written, coherent, grammatically correct paper that illustrates that you understand the concepts from our textbook and can apply those concepts in a paper. Remember all good papers have an introduction, body, and a conclusion. They are also grammatically correct (good syntax and no typos).
