Scientists want our theories to be empirically testable. Recall from Chapter 1 why they want our theories to be testable. Now develop a theory about why students are concerned about grades. Let’s say that students see grades as important to getting a good job. We could test this by seeing if employers examine grades of job applicants. Would this test yield useful information if it were true? And what if it were false?
