Scenario: HazardFor several months the Early Childhood service Director has been aware that thestaff are unhappy with the conditions of the playground. After wet weather theground is boggy underfoot. The path around the playground is uneven and cracked andhas lifted in several places creating a trip hazard. Two staff have had near-misses.It was agreed that the Director would report the staff's concern to theOwner/Manager. The Owner/Manager has advised the Director that the paths willbe replaced as soon as possible, however the drainage is a long-term project whichcan't be immediately addressed. It has been suggested that the large ash felt area atthe front of the building could be investigated as an option for a temporaryplayground during periods of wet weather.
