You must all put on your aprons and get ready to become little cooks. 1- First gather the ingredients on your counter. These ingredients are- 2 large bread slices, a small bowl of cheese, 1 packet ketchup sauce, 1 packet mayonnaise sauce, 1 lettuce leave cut to bread size, 1 sliced tomato, 1 sliced carrot, 1 sliced cucumbers. You can add or remove any vegetables as you please. 2- Take both bread slices and spread one tablespoon of mayonnaise sauce on one face of each. 3- Place them with the sauce-face up on the counter. First spread cheese on one slice followed by lettuce and then other vegetables. Put as much or as less vegetables as you want. 4- Top the vegetable layers with ketchup sauce making a zigzag pattern from top to bottom. 5- Spread a layer of cheese again. Make sure your vegetable layer is covered in cheese. 6- Place the other bread slice with sauce-face down on the cheese topping, sandwiching the vegetables in the middle. 7- Press and hold this sandwiched position for 2 minutes. This will help the stuffing in the sandwich to settle and not fall off. 8- Carefully put your sandwich in a plate and place it in the microwave and let grill for two minutes. After two minutes remove and your grilled sandwich is ready to eat. Rationale My snack recipe is structured to instruct third graders to make a healthy sandwich that is both nutritious and delicious stressing the importance of healthy snacks. Kids will learn how to make a basic grilled sandwich. Learning this will lay the foundation for them to make any other variation of grilled sandwiches. The first instruction directs the kids to gather their ingredients and specifies the quantities. The quantities have been kept simple so they find it easy to gather and measure. The focus is on gathering all ingredients and in teaching children that ingredients need to be measured when used rather than used randomly. The second, third, fourth and fifth instructions are completely directive and are framed to assist children in doing basic stuffing in order. It will also help them to understand how to follow instructions and how important it is to follow them. The sixth instruction assists them on the closing step of making a sandwich. Today we are going to learn the recipe of how to prepare a simple fruit custard that is both tasty as well as healthy to eat. Before we start with our recipe, you must all put on your aprons and chef’s hat.
1. To begin with, you must gather all the ingredients that will be required in due course. In order to make the custard you will need 2 cups of milk, 2 tablespoons of custard powder and 2 tablespoons of sugar.
