Section A
1) Bill mies 24 kg sand with 5 kg of cement
Hence for 36 kg of sand he has to mix = 36*5
/24 =7.5 kg
2) 2.71828 ~2.718 since 4th digit after decimal point is less than 5, we do not change the third digit.
P = 3(10)(10) = 300 (just by substitution)
3) Purchase cost in total=50 dollars
Sales in total = 22*2+20=64 dollars
Profit = 64-50 = 14 $
Profit percent =14/50 =28%
Lizzie is wrong because profit is less than 30%
4) Area of the development as given= ½ bh = 1/8 square miles.=0.125 sq miles
a) Area of 50 foot ball pitches = 50(100*50) square metres = 50(5000)/1600^2 sq miles
= 0.0975625 square miles
Yes, area of devt would be greater than area of 50 football pitches
b) Reverse calculation:
Area of development = 1/8 square miles =200*1600 square metre=320000 sqmiles.
Area of one pitch = 5000 sq met
Area of 50 pitches =50*5000 = 250000 sqmiles and this is less than area of devt.
Section B
1. a. From graph we find for 60 litres the point on line is (60,13) So 60 litres = 13 gallons.
Ananys used 44 litres of fuel = 10 gallons.
Meera used = 8 gallons.
Hence Ananya used more .
b. Ananya used 2 gallons more.
2. 70%...
