The play starts as Iago let Roderigo know how he detests Othello as he elevated Cassio to be his lieutenant and not him. Both of them started to screaming outside Brabantino’s house to wake him up. From the shadows, they educate him regarding his little girl's mysterious union with Othello. Iago made Brabantio angry asrefering him about the sexual relationship between Othello and his daughter. Brabantio lets the Duke have information that someone has charmed his daughter saying she is 'mishandled, taken from me and adulterated'. The Duke pays attention to Othello who makes sense of that Desdemona head over heels for othello. Desdemona did not get shy in saying that she wedded Othello for affection and she is more obligated to him instead of Brabantino. Desdemona requests to go with his husband to Cyprus her father cautions Othello 'she has misled her Father, and may you'. This act is crucial as it sets up the characters it establishes that Othello is an outsider and how Desdemona betrayed her father to marry him.
