This revolt was a colonial revolt which occurred b
etween 1765 and 1783 against the British with the help of the French, to win their independence to establish the United states of America. The main reason of this rebellion was due to excessive taxation that was levied on the colonies by the British. The colonists also could not make any laws of their own to govern themselves and had no representation in the government. Also in 1774, to isolate Boston from other colonies, as it became a seat of anti-British sentiments in those days, the British passed the Intolerable Acts.
