A Memorial to Ralph Ellison:
This sculpture is dedicated to author Ralph Ellison, who resided across the street from this park. It consists of a bronze monolith with a silhouette of a striding man carved into it, a literal homage to Ellison's epic novel Invisible Man. Inscribed in a low-lying pink granite wall framing an oval landscape designed by Ken Smith is a line from the novel as well as biographical information about Ellison.
