Executive Summary
The review report appropriately explains the requirement of LoRaWAN security plan for secure bi- directional communication in various fields such as Machine to machine, Internet of Things, smart city and industrial applications. It is the fastest growing technology ecosystem that commits itself to deployment of large-scale networks ensuring bi-directional communication. It follows star network architecture with good network capacity which allows very effective energy. It keeps the unlicensed spectrum compatible with low range, low cost and power network connectivity. The framework explores the basic network architecture of LoRaWAN, its device classes, network capacity, frequency bands, battery life and security. The major drawbacks of LoRaWAN include its susceptibility to man-in-the-middle attack, replay attack, and LoRa attack but they can be minimized through easy steps. However, with its own set of strengths such as good battery lifetime, unlicensed band frequency, indoor penetration, low cost, long range, deployment flexibility and bi-directional communication, it offers a promising future for a smarter world. This review describes the LoRaWAN security plan which is recommended from a security expert’s perspective shedding light on its framework and its security analysis and recommends this methodology stating all possible future enhancements.

1. Introduction
The internet of things in the current world needs a wide network to handle a great many nodes well connected to each other and accessing the internet. This requires a network which is capable of handling the huge interconnectivity. The sensors on wireless networks are dependent upon devices with limited energy. This has led the network industry to explore methods with which energy could be saved. Considering the plethora of nodes connected over the internet LoRaWAN is an optimum solution. LoRaWAN is a low range-low power wide area network protocol for internet of things. The LoRa technology is being adopted all over the world as it is a licensed, free, low power WAN ecosystem. This protocol can provide smooth connectivity among large numbers of nodes interconnected on the internet. It helps to address problems of bandwidth latency and coverage over large range. It is a feasible technology which allows communication for long-range apps.
This review report illustrates the LoRaWAN Security Framework in detail. It further discusses the strengths and weaknesses of this protocol and suggests a security plan for using it with more secure environment. It further justifies the use of the security plan from the perspective of an expert in order to attract customers.
