Retrofits are being planned fora manufacturing facility in preparation for a new product line. A short beam will be extended using a pinned connection at B. The extended beam will need to support a point load of 2 kips, but the team is not yet sure where the load will be attached. In order to move forward with the retrofit design, we can use influence lines to determine worst-case scenarios.
