Retransmission as described in Section 2.5 tends to decrease the effective baud rate (B) of the transmission. Compare the unreliability and the effective baud rate for the following designs:
(a) Transmit each word twice and retransmit when they disagree.
(b) Transmit each word three times and use the majority of the three values to determine the output.
(c) Use a parity-bit code and only retransmit when the code detects an error.
(d) Use a Hamming SECSED code and only retransmit when the code detects an error.
